Janitor's strength is its community: character cards, public chats you can read and fork, multiple personas, a builder with custom CSS. Its weakness is that all of it needs configuring: the model, the prompt, the answer length and, optionally, your own API key or a proxy to a third-party model.
Three things to know first
No media at all
In the janitor+ announcement of 24 June 2026 voice and images are called future plans (“think voice and image”). No voice notes, no photos, no video in chat on the day we checked.
In the App Store and Google Play since 7 February 2026; publisher — Janitor AI Inc. Next to it in the store sits “J.AI” from a Chinese company — that is not Janitor. On mobile a strict filter is on by default.
On 13 September 2026 the site answered our automated browser with “Access Restricted — blocked by our firewall”. If you see that page, try a normal browser without extensions or another network.
